Ready to Serve

I’m Colonel Pratt, and I’ve been proud to call Ward 7 home since 2017. Hopewell is personal to me because my father was born here, and my family’s connection to this city runs deep. My wife was born and raised in Hopewell and our two children were born here and went to Hopewell schools.I believe good leadership starts with listening, building trust, and finding common ground. My background in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation has taught me how to bring people together, work through tough conversations, and stay focused on solutions. I’ve put those skills to work in nonprofit leadership, project management, community engagement, and public service, including work with the Richmond Peace Education Center and the U.S. Census Bureau here in Hopewell.What matters most to me is making sure Ward 7 and all of Hopewell is a place where families can thrive today and where future generations can be proud to stay, grow, and build their lives. I believe we all have a part to play in that work, and I’m ready to do mine by listening closely, serving faithfully, and working hard for the people of Hopewell.

I believe in open and honest government, where information is easily accessible and decision-making processes are clear.

I believe in getting the most out of city resources by making sure the city’s programs and services are easy to find and use.

Collaboration

I believe working with corporations, nonprofits, and universities is vital to exploring new opportunities for economic development.
